While the Bajaj Hindusthan stock lost 8.82%, Simbhaoli Sugars fell 9.77% on the BSE. Avadh Sugar and Energy (3.03%), Balrampur Chini Mills (4.45%), Mawana Sugars (6.33%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries (8.99%) and Andhra Sugars (5.28%) were the other losers on BSE.

The top gainer among sugar stocks was Avadh Sugar and Energy which hit the upper circuit of 19.99% to 567.15 level on BSE today. The stock of sugar manufacturer Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar rose up to 19.95% to 10.22 level on the BSE.

All sectoral indices ended in the green, led by realty, power, consumer durables and metals. Brokers said sentiment was bullish on continuous recovery in the rupee amid reports that the government may announce steps to prop up the domestic unit.

The top gainer among sugar stocks was Avadh Sugar and Energy which hit the upper circuit of 19.99% to 472.65 level on BSE today. On Wednesday, the stock closed 6.47 per cent higher at Rs 393.90 on the BSE.

The RBI on Tuesday barred banks from issuing guarantees in the form of letters of undertaking (LoU) to prevent any further misuse of the facility as was done in the Massive PNB fraud.

The agency has written back to him saying he should immediately contact the Indian High Commission in whichever country he might be, following which his return process would be initiated. He has been asked again to join the investigation next week.
