General Secretary, Hind Mazdoor Sabha Harbhajan Singh Sidhu told that the joint forum would extend moral support to the farmers' agitation but would not go on strike because a notice is required to be served for the purpose

With this, most of industrial, banking activities and road movements will be hampered. A joint platform of ten central unions says all preparations have been done as more than 25 crore workers are expected to participate in strike 

The All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) also announced its decision to participate; strike notice has been issued in most parts of the country by associations of government employees in the public sector, as well as the independent sectoral federations.

Protesting against the move, the unions have decided to hit the streets on May 20 and put forward their demands with local administrative authorities

The government sought to put controls on drugmakers when it came to pricing of essential drugs, including those for common cough and cold as also for cancer and other diseases.
