The more-than-expected rise in June IIP data comes on the heels of largely negative global developments that threaten to eventually affect the Indian economy. As the credit rating agency Standard & Poor's downgrades the US government's 'AAA' sovereign credit rating, India would experience couple of pain points. The dollar losing its fundamental strength would mean a stronger rupee that can widen deficit, affect investor flows and so would draw the regulator to continue its rate hiking action in order to curb both inflation and asset bubble.

With bloodbath in global markets, Indian markets mirrored  its Asian and emerging peers. And going forward the Indian indices will continue to be on a see-saw, thanks to inflation which seems to be untamable for now and fears of another rate hike from the central bank.
