Samsung Galaxy Note 9 launched, pre-orders beginSamsung launched the Galaxy Note 9 during its Unpacked event in New York yesterday. The device comes with massisve internal storage options, that are 128GB and 512GB, which can be further expanded to 1TB. It also has a massive 4,000mAh battery which Samsung claims can last a day's usage with ease. Other features to look out for are a better camera capabilities and an improved S Pen. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will come with the Snapdragon 845 in the US market, whereas it will feature Samsung's Exynos chipset in other markets. The 128GB varaint has been priced at $999 and the 512GB variant has been $1,249. Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 9 have begun and it will be available from August 24Xiaomi Mi A2 launched in IndiaXiaomi Mi A2, the Android One-affiliated global variant of Mi 6X, was launched in India this week. Only one variant of the Mi A2 has been launched in India with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage has been launched in India. A higher variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is in the cards. The variant launched in India has been priced at Rs 16,999. Pre-orders for the device have already begun. Responding to the threat, WhatsApp said that this is similar to altering an e-mail, and does not indicate a security shortcoming in end-to-end encryption of WhatsApp messages.Android 9 Pie released for Pixel devicesGoogle officially named the latest version of Android as Android Pie before launching it for the Google Pixel devices. Essential followed suit with an Android Pie release of its own. Android Pie puts a lot of emphasis on artificial intelligence and digital wellbeing. The update will be released for devices by Sony, Nokia, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus and other Android One-affiliated devices by December this year.

No WhatsApp Payments if no local offices, says Indian govtIt's one thing after another with WhatsApp Payments. The instant messaging platform has been asked by the Indian governemnt to set up offices in India for its payments arm to begin operations here. This new prerequisite by the Indian governmennt is likely to defer the rollout of WhatsApp Payments, which has been delayed for several times already. The privacy policy of WhatsApp Payments was also edited recently to removed the statement which said that the service was in beta. The device will be available via Flipkart and Samsung's online store starting August 6. The Samsung Galaxy On8 comes with Snapdragon 450 coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It also comes with a feature called Samsung Mall, which uses artificial intelligence to allow users to buy a product from e-commerce platforms by simply clicking a picture of it with the phone's camera. Talking of cameras, the Samsung Galaxy On8 comes with a dual camera setup at the back with 16MP and 5MP sensors, and a 16MP selfie shooter.
