Attributing to the strength of the Japanese yen and a slowdown in LCD televisions, Sony Corp faced a decline in its net income to $886 million in the third quarter.

Reacting to the results, the shares of the company were trading 2.46 per cent up at Rs 183.55 a piece on the Bombay Stock Exchange in the afternoon.

The company had on Wednesday reported a 96 per cent fall in net profit to Rs 1.83 crore for the October-December quarter, against Rs 49.54 crore last year.
