These ways include product controls, digital literacy and fact-checking. WhatsApp recently introduced limited broadcasting and marking forwarded messages as product controls. The Facebook-owned instant messaging platform indicated that its deals with absue in two ways - by giving controls and information to the user to keep them safe and by proactively stopping the misuse of the platform.2. Google under fire for allowing third parties to scan Gmail inboxesGoogle faced a lot of flak for allowing third party developers scan the inboxes of Gmail users. While the Mountain View tech giant has stopped scanning its users' inboxes for sending personalised ads, it allowed third parties to continue doing the same. Some of the third party developers even had access to thousands of Gmail user accounts. Google later clarified that it vets its third-party apps to make sure they request only relevant information and do not misrepresent themselves.3. Reliance Jio launches JioGigaFiber, JioPhone 2Reliance Jio launched its much-awaited fixed fibre internet connection at its AGM this week. Dubbed the JioGigaFibre, the internet connection will carry smart home solutions and will potentially connect 50 million homes. A few noteworthy games like Fifa 19, Battlefield V, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Bethesda were announced during the event. The first two days will be opened to the media personnel and general public will be will be able to access the event from June 12. The event will go on till June 15. Mi 8 SE is coming to India as Mi 8iXiaomi launched its flagship device for 2018 in China last week. Apart from the Mi 8, we also got a Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE. The Mi 8 SE was quick to gain popularity in Xiaomi's home market, China and now a report suggests that the phone might soon launch in India, but with a different moniker.A report by Beebom claims that the Mi 8 SE will be launched in India as Mi 8i. This information was apparently leaked by a source in the retail network. The same source also revealed that the Mi Band 3 will launch alongside of the Mi 8i. There is no specific date mentioned in the report but both the devices are expected to arrive on Indian shores as early as next month.As far as the pricing of the new products is concerned, it is expected to launch at prices close to what Xiaomi announced during the launch event in China. The Mi 8 SE is priced at RMB 1,799 in China which roughly translates to Rs 19,000. In India, the prices could range between Rs 18,000 and Rs 20,000.HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ go on sale in IndiaHTC's latest mid-range smartphones, the Desire 12 and Desire 12+, are open for sale in India from today. The HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+ can be purchased via company's own e-store and offline channels. The HTC Desire 12 has been priced at Rs 15,800, whereas the higher placed HTC Desire 12+ has been priced at Rs 19,790. Both devices are available in Warm Silver and Cool Black.The new HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+ were launched globally in March earlier this year and were introduced into Indian markets last week. Both phones sport 18:9 aspect ratio screens, becoming the first devices from the HTC Desire family to feature taller screens. Both devices feature acrylic glass backs which makes them durable.
