IRCTC began booking tickets for special trains after 6 pm on Monday, two hours after the scheduled opening time. Initially, the railways announced the booking of tickets on the IRCTC website from 4pm, Monday but the website crashed due to huge traffic

Special trains to run from today: The Railways ministry said that around 54,000 tickets were booked. All first AC three-tier tickets for Howrah-New Delhi were sold within 10 minutes and all seats were reserved within 20 minutes

The Ministry of Railways, on Sunday, announced that it will start operations of 15 passenger trains (30 return journeys) from May 12. All these trains will run from New Delhi railway station, with fares equivalent to the ticket fare that is charged for Rajdhani trains. The online booking for these trains has started on May 11, 4 pm onwards. The all air-conditioned services will cover 15 Rajdhani routes from New Delhi to Dibrugarh, Agartala, Horah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneshwar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru,Chennai, Thiruvananthpuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi. IRCTC Train Tickets Booking Online: These special trains would run on Rajdhani routes between national capital New Delhi and Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi. These special trains would also have some stoppages in select cities

Train ticket booking has been delayed by two hours as IRCTC web portal, the official website of the Indian Railways, remained inaccessible due to heavy traffic on the site

The customers will now get 5.25 per cent interest on deposits up to one year, while those above one year will earn 5.7 per cent to 5.75 per cent
