The Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday discussed the fresh list and felt that there could be 100 new names in it.

In terms of the number of account holders, India is at 18th place (1,668 account holders), while Switzerland is on the top again with 11,235 account holders. Others in the top-five include France, UK, Brazil and Italy.

It said that its Swiss arm had not been fully integrated into HSBC after its purchase, allowing \"significantly lower\" standards of compliance and due diligence to persist.

According to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Switzerland has assured that on the basis of such independent information they will cooperate.

This surge in gold shipments has made India the largest destination for the yellow metal exports from Switzerland.

\"Out of the 628 persons, 201 are either non-residents or non-traceable, leaving 427 persons cases as actionable cases,\" an official statement said.

\"We cannot enter into discussions on illegal data. Once there is independent investigation, we will fully cooperate with Indian officials\", the Swiss envoy said.

\"The issue is not to disclose or not, but how and when to disclose the names,\" Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told the Rajya Sabha in his reply to a discussion on black money on Wednesday.

Agency sources said that ED said has given Timblo a week's time to furnish certain additional details about her and her mining company- Timblo Private Limited.

The information collected by the Special Investigation Team on black money stashed abroad is throwing up cash trails that go beyond Swiss banks.

While the exact number of such accounts could not be found, sources said that there are more such accounts on which India is seeking details from Swiss authorities.

The list of foreign account holders may yield little in the fight against unaccounted wealth.

The court, after receiving in a sealed cover a list of 627 Indians who had accounts in HSBC Bank, Geneva, asked the Centre to raise all its grievances before the SIT.

\"There are about 627-628 accounts along with a status report which we have submitted in the Supreme Court today in a sealed cover,\" Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi said.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi handed over two sealed envelopes, containing the names, to the apex court bench headed by Chief Justice HL Dattu.

The list will be given to the Supreme Court in a sealed envelope, FM Arun Jaitley said, but did not say if the government was open to making the list public.

\"First give us the names, we will get them investigated. Not just one, two or three (names), give us in a sealed cover what you have got from France, German and Swiss governments,\" the Supreme  Court said.

On the affidavit filed before the SC on Monday, she said the matter in the affidavit was already settled and adjudicated.

Despite some official White Papers, or government reports, on black money tabled in the past, only unofficial estimates by independent agencies are floating around. The variations are also rather wide.
