German luxury carmaker Audi has brought the new A4 - one of its largest selling sedans - pepped with some stunning and sharper design elements, starting at the price of Rs 38.10 lakh for the 'Premium Plus' variant and Rs 41.20 lakh for the top-end 'Technology' grade (ex-showroom Delhi).
The refreshed A4 from Audi, which retails over a dozen models in India, has distinctive LED treatment to the headlamps and the tail lights, making the new design aggressive and crisper than the predecessor. Its 17-inch alloy wheels, hexagonal grille dipped in chrome, and a lower stance lends a sophisticated look to the new A4 that is 95 kg lighter than its predecessor.
Speaking to Business Today, Joe King, Head, Audi India said, "The all-new Audi A4 is a fascinating synthesis of technology and aesthetics. All the technology in the brand's bestselling family has been redeveloped so that it yet again defines the benchmark in the segment. Lightweight and more powerful, it is more than just a car: a mobile personality which fits perfectly with the individuality that our young customers show."
Luxury carmaker have been introducing more petrol cars to the Delhi-NCR market after the Supreme Court had imposed a ban in 2,000-cc and above diesel cars that lasted for eight months and ended last month. All these bigger engine diesel cars are allowed to be sold, but carry a 1 per cent environmental charge on the ex-showroom price of the vehicle.
Many luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz had also launched petrol cars in the market to escape the ban. Its GLS 400 4MATIC petrol SUV was introduced at the price of Rs 82.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) on September 7.
The all-new A4 also comes with an efficient 1,400-cc TFSI petrol engine mated to a redesigned seven-speed Stronic transmission. The compact four-cylinder unit with an advanced start-stop system generates 150 horsepower with fuel consumption of 17.84 kmpl. The all-new Audi A4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds and carries a top speed of 210 km/hour.
"We have tried to adopt a new multimedia package to the car. The intelligent technologies have a new Audi MMI control concept, which acts as the main control element for a Smartphone interface, Phonebox, LED Headlights and good acoustics inside the virtual cockpit of the car that makes the Audi A4 is one of the best-selling sedan in the Audi India portfolio," Joe King added.
Audi, which is part of the Volkswagen Group in India, is consolidating its position and had launched the new A6 Matrix 35 TFSI at a price of Rs 52.75 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi and Maharashtra). The A6 is the largest selling model in the Indian executive sedan segment, and comes with Audi's new design language and enhanced equipment level.
