Bajaj second quarter net profit soars 69%

The company saw its total income rise 50.37 per cent - at Rs 4,341.82 crore, compared to Rs 2,887.51 crore in the corresponding July-September last year.

On the back of its highest ever quarterly motorcycle sales, Bajaj Auto on Tuesday reported 69.32 per cent jump in its net profit for the quarter ended September 30, at Rs 682.08 crore.

The company had reported a profit of Rs 402.83 crore during the same period last year, the statement said.

The total income of the company during the second quarter of this financial year stood at Rs 4,341.82 crore, compared to Rs 2,887.51 crore in the year-ago period, up 50.37 per cent.

Bajaj Auto said during the July-September period, the company had sold a total of 10,00,570 units, against 6,86,727 units in the corresponding period last year, up 45.70 per cent.

In the motorcycle segment, the company recorded its highest ever sales at 8,83,494 units, compared to 5,99,641 units, a growth of 47.33 per cent.

"The quarter witnessed the highest ever motorcycle sales," the statement added.
