Infosys will expand operations in the Atlanta metro area and add around 200 people in the Cobb county in the US in 2013-14.
Infosys identified Atlanta as a strategic hub of growth in the US. The infrastructure and talent available in Atlanta attracted the firm to set up an on-shore operations centre to deliver BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) services to North American clients, the IT major said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
In the filing, Infosys said it "...plans to add approximately 200 new jobs in the next fiscal at its Cumberland location in Cobb County and expects additional expansion in the metro Atlanta area over the next couple of years."

Apart from Atlanta, the Bangalore-based IT firm has 19 locations across the US including a delivery centre in Des Monies (Iowa).
"It is critical for Infosys to create global hubs of talent and the Southeast is a key US region with a number of our important clients," Infosys BPO VP and Unit Head (Enterprise Services) Gautam Thakkar said.
In January, Infosys, while announcing its third quarter results, said it added 7,499 (gross) and 977 (net) employees, taking the total headcount to 1,55,629 during the October-December quarter.
Although the IT firm has not yet set the hiring target for FY14, it has made about 6,000 campus offers, it had said.
