Dutch airline KLM unanimous winner in a dining programme

When you're in-air for hours at a stretch, the menu at hand can do a lot to ease the pain. British-based travel site Skyscanner recently carried out a survey to identify airlines serving the best food. Dutch airline KLM emerged the unanimous winner for its long-haul, in-flight dining programme. Offering four business-class menus that alternate weekly, each dish has been developed by Michelin-star Dutch chef Richard Ekkebus, who heads Amber restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong.

Till end September this year, business class passengers on KLM flights will be served classic French dishes with an Asian twist-think braised venison, or cod with curry in a coconut-lime sauce. In addition, all glassware and cutlery used by the airline has been specially created by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders.

Following in the top slots, are Aeroflot, SAS, Air France and British Airways offers its first class passengers a daily seafood special supplied by the renowned Loch Fyne company in Scotland and is available on flights departing from the UK only.
