Review: BackBeat Pro headphone

Nidhi Singal     January 8, 2015

Plantronics has come up with some great music companions in its BackBeat range. The new BackBeat Pro is a full-blown over-the-ear, wireless Bluetooth headset. The headset comes with a carrying pouch and a headphone cable with a microphone that converts it into a corded headphone.

The controls are on the side earcups. The right earcup has the volume control while the left one has controls to move the tracks forward or back. Pairing the headset is easy. It even supports Near Field Communication and works smoothly with NFCenabled Android smartphones. The sound quality is good. It supports active noise cancellation too.

The best part about the BackBeat Pro is that when the headphone is removed from the ears and rested on the neck, the music pauses automatically. And it resumes when put back on. The range of the headphone is very good - the company claims it to be 330ft. The battery backup is good. I got close to a day on the Bluetooth mode. The battery lasts much longer when plugged in as a wired headphone. The only concern was its weight but I got used to it a few days.

Price: Rs 12,458
Bag it or junk it: A good Bluetooth headphone with noise cancellation feature.
