Realme X2 Pro now eligible for Realme UI Open Beta programme in India

Shubham Verma     March 13, 2020

The Realme X2 Pro is the next smartphone that will be eligible for the Realme UI Open Beta programme. The smartphone received Android 10-based Realme UI under the stable channel recently, then why has the company started the open beta programme for it? Because the Realme UI Open Beta Programme will make sure the Realme X2 Pro gets early features of the operating system before the users on the stable channel.

Realme made an announcement via a post on the Realme Community forum. It said, "realme UI has grown rapidly since its development. Our developing team has invested a lot of efforts. And now it's time to share it with you. Open beta is going live!" Following the announcement, the Chinese brand has detailed the process of how you can join the Realme UI Open Beta programme. Since it is an open beta programme, it is bound to have bugs, which is why it is not recommended for users who want a stable and bug-free experience.

Before you set out to join the Realme UI Open Beta programme, you are advised to read the "Reminder" on the Realme forum, as noted on the website. Realme has mentioned that by visiting the page, you will be "understanding risks and plans". You will also learn about the "Attention & Instructions" and "Common Issues" in the same thread, the post has said. After you are thorough with the update process and have understood the risks under the programme, here is how can proceed further.

You are required to download and install the zip file from the website, which has two APK files. Install both the files and then go to Settings on your phone. Then, you need to go the Software Update settings and tap on the Trial Version menu. Now, you are needed to tap on the Realme UI Open Beta for Realme X2 Pro. Your phone will reboot now, and the beta version will be available on the phone. You can download and install the beta version on your Realme X2 Pro.

The Realme UI Open Beta version is available only for the Realme X2 Pro handsets that are running the RMX1931EX_11_A.10. If the phone is not running this software version and you install the APK files, the phone "will not be able to receive neither the open beta version upgrade nor normal version upgrade." But users need not panic, they can enrol themselves again by cancelling the public beta application to switch back to the normal version. Your Realme X2 Pro unit needs to have at least 5GB of free space before the update process starts otherwise "there will be a risk of update failure."
