It has been barely a few days since Samsung launched the Galaxy M21, and we already have news about the next device in the series. CAD-based renders of a new smartphone, the Galaxy M51 have been leaked by @OnLeaks and its partner, Pigtou.
Reports are pegging this as the successor to the Galaxy M40, and as such, the phone could also launch as the Galaxy M41.
As per the leak, the smartphone gets a large display with a flat 6.5-inch panel. This panel is said to be 0.2-inches bigger in size than the M40 display, while the phone is said to measure 162.6 x 77.5 x 8.5mm, 9.5mm if the camera bump on the back of the device is included.
The camera bump on the device is said to house a triple camera set-up with a primary wide-angle lens, an ultrawide lens and a macro or a depth-sensing lens. On the front, we'll have a selfie camera inside a punch hole.
There will also be a 3.5mm headphone jack on top as well as a USB-C port on the bottom. The phone will also come with a physical fingerprint reader which will be placed on the back of the phone. This decision appears to have been taken to keep the price of the phone in check.
Despite the phone's design remind one of the Galaxy S10 Lite that was launched by Samsung earlier in the year, the Galaxy M51 will not be as expensive as the S10 Lite. Reports suggest the Galaxy M51 could be available for half the price of the Galaxy S10 Lite and as such may start retail at around $250. This would see the phone priced in India at around the Rs 20,000 mark making it a very proposition in the segment.
For now, there isn't much detail available about the internals of the device. However, we expect more on this to be available in the coming days.
