PUBG Mobile 90fps mode rolled out but not everyone can use it: Here is why

PUBG Mobile has been available in the 60fps mode so far but only a few people know that its Chinese version, called the Game for Peace, already supports 90fps mode. So if you wanted to run the 90fps mode on PUBG Mobile, you either had to be staying in China or using the APK file of Game for Peace to play the game. Well, OnePlus is stepping up to end this disparity by announcing its exclusive partnership with PUBG Mobile, as a part of which worldwide users will be able to play the game in 90fps mode, but only on select OnePlus smartphones for now.
Tencent will let the users of OnePlus smartphones, specifically those having the OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 7T Pro, and OnePlus Nord, play PUBG Mobile in 90Hz refresh rate. The major difference between the 90fps mode and the one that you play in right now is the smoothness that you will notice on the former. The interaction with the game becomes more fluid than it is on the 60fps mode, so there will clearly an advantage to people who are pro PUBG Mobile players.
The exclusive deal between OnePlus and Tencent (PUBG Mobile) lasts for a month, which means OnePlus users (of only specific smartphones mentioned above) will be the first ones to run PUBG Mobile in 90Hz refresh rate mode. After the deal expires on September 7, any PUBG player worldwide will be able to play 90fps mode in the game, irrespective of the smartphone brand. So all the premium flagship smartphones such as the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Asus ROG Phone 3, Pixel 4, as well as the mid-range devices, including the OnePlus Nord, will likely support the 90fps mode after one month.
This is extremely big for OnePlus users especially because they finally get to use the more advanced 90fps mode, not to mention the bragging rights they get at least for a month. But those who do not have a OnePlus smartphone will have to settle for the existing 60Hz refresh rate mode for until September 7. But there will be some major differences in the type of performance different smartphones will have to offer. While OnePlus 8 series runs Snapdragon 865 processor, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and ROG Phone 3 have the latest Snapdragon 865+ processor, so the 90fps mode will load faster on the latter processor.
Previously, OnePlus partnered Epic Games to allow users of its select smartphones to run Fortnite in the 90fps mode. However, the graphics of the game were defaulted to 'low' on turning the 90fps mode on. Tencent has not said if the same setting will work on PUBG Mobile's 90fps mode but if it does, it might not be the best feature to have, even for OnePlus users who are getting it a month prior.
