Google unveiled the highly-anticipated Pixel 4a on August 3 but alongside the mid-range warrior, the company also announced the Pixel 5. Although Google didn't reveal the launch date of the Pixel 5, it is now speculated to launch the device in October. As per latest reports, Google France seems to have revealed the official launch date of the Pixel 5 as well as the Pixel 4a(5G), which was also kept under wraps.
Google France has reportedly leaked the launch date in its official blog. The report in French revealed that the pre-order for the Google Pixel 5 would begin from October 8. However, this doesn't guarantee that the phone would arrive in October itself, the launch can get further delayed and one can expect the Pixel 5 to arrive only by the end of this year. The blog post in French was first spotted by Twitter user Maxime. However, the proposed date was taken down from the blog but its cached version is still available, a report by 9to5 Google reveals.
Google has not officially shared any details about the launch of Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G, it only revealed that the phones are "coming this fall". "This fall, we'll have two more devices to talk about: the Pixel 4a (5G), starting at $499, and Pixel 5, both with 5G to make streaming videos, downloading content, and playing games on Stadia or other platforms faster and smoother than ever," Google had said in a statement. The company, however, had teased an image of the upcoming smartphones.
In the image teased by Google, the sides of both the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 can be noticed with a 5G background. There is a visible difference in the camera bump of Pixel 5 as compared to that of Pixel 4a, the Pixel 5's camera bump is slightly bigger than the camera bump of Pixel 4a.
The newly-launched Pixel 4a houses a single camera but it is being rumoured that the Pixel 5 will feature a dual-camera setup on the rear. If you take a close look at the image teased by Google, the power button of Pixel 5 is a metal-coloured button which is glossier than the 4a. It doesn't have its body colour on the power button, unlike the Pixel 4a.
Apart from this, Google Pixel 5 is tipped to feature a bigger screen as compared to Google Pixel 4a's 5.81-inch display. The reports have claimed that the Google Pixel will be powered by a Snapdragon 765G chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. In terms of battery, the Pixel 5 is likely to house a 3500mAH battery with USB-Type C charging port. Notably, the Pixel 5 might not arrive in India along with the Pixel 4a 5G.
