Amazon India launches online IRCTC train ticket booking service, cashback on first booking

Amazon has announced that it has partnered with IRCTC to offer train tickets booking service on Amazon's Android and iOS apps. Through the same app, the users will also be able to see PNR status and manage the booking, the company said.
The first time users will also get a cashback of up to Rs 100 on their first train ticket booked through Amazon. The train tickets bookings will be possible under the Amazon Pay tab in the app, Amazon india said.
If you book your train tickets through Amazon, you will get up to 10 percent off on your first booking. However, if you are an Amazon Prime member, you will get up to 12 percent off your first booking. The offer is only valid for a limited period of time. As a part of the introductory offer, Amazon has waived off service and payment gateway transaction charges.
Talking about the new feature, Vikas Bansal, Director, Amazon Pay said, "We are excited to partner with IRCTC and move another step forward in making life easy and convenient for our customers. Last year, we launched flights and bus ticket booking on Amazon. With the facility to book reserved train tickets on our platform, we are enabling travel across any mode preferred by customers."
Apart from booking train tickets on Amazon, users will also be able to check seat and quota availability across all train classes on the Amazon app on their Android and iOS devices. They can also check the live PNR status for tickets booked through Amazon.
Users can also add money Amazon Pay to make payment directly through the app, This would make the process faster and more convenient. Customers paying using Amazon Pay will also get an instant refund in case of cancellations or booking failures. The tickets can be canceled under the "Your Orders" section on the app. They can also seek 24x7 help through an Amazon helpline over phone and chat.
Earlier in 2019, Amazon had introduced flight bookings in India. The e-commerce platform had entered into a partnership with a travel website, Cleartrip, to make the service available. The service is available on the Amazon app.
