Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 4G launched: All you need to know about them

After weeks of leaks and teasers, Redmi has finally launched its Redmi Note 9 series of phones. At a launch event in China, the company launched a Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi Note 9 5G and a more powerful Redmi Note 9 5G Pro smartphone.
The company has announced that of the three the Pro model will retail for CNY 1,600, while the more affordable price Redmi Note 9 will sell for CNY 1,300. The 4G phone in the list will be sold for a price of CNY 1,000 in Redmi's home country, China. The company has announced the two phones will be available for purchase from December 1. For now, there's no information on the phones being sold out of China, or for the matter coming to India.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G
Of the three, it's the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G that is the most powerful of the lot as it comes with a Snapdragon 750G chipset with a 5G X52 modem. The phone flaunts a 6.67-inch display on the front with support for 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Much like the display we saw on the Mi 10T, this display supports adaptive refresh that offers 6 different refresh rate steps and can thus dynamically switch between 30Hz to 120Hz depending on the task at hand. The panel also supports a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The front and back of the device are covered by Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood, the chipset is paired to a base configuration of 6/128GB of RAM and storage. For the higher variant, users get 8GB+128GB of RAM and storage, while there's also a variant that offers the same amount of RAM but doubles the storage to 256GB.
The phone comes with a quad-camera set-up on the back, which is built around a 108-megapixel ISOCELL HM2 sensor. Other cameras in the list include an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2-camera macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the phone gets a 16-megapixel sensor. The phone is backed by a 4,820 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charger which can go up from 0% to 100% in just 58 minutes.
Redmi Note 9 5G
Redmi Note 9 5G is a slightly more affordable phone and as such the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset. Xiaomi claims the 800U is twice as fast as the chipset found on the Redmi Note 8, while the storage speed has also been improved.
For display, it gets a 6.53-inch LCD panel with FullHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The panel comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. As for cameras, we have a base 48-megapixel lens which is sat next to an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The selfie camera on the device is a 13-megapixel lens. The phone is powered by 5,000mAh battery, which gets support for 18W fast charging.
Redmi Note 9 4G
This is the most affordable device on the list and as a result, gets the Snapdragon 662 chipset with up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It is paired with a minimum of 4GB of RAM. The panel on the device is a 6.53-inch LCD which comes with support for FullHD+ resolution and a 120Hz touch sampling rate (refresh rate is 60Hz).
The cameras here include a 48-megapixel main module sitting next to an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone also comes with an 8-megapixel selfie camera is inside a notch. Powering the phone is a big 6,000mAh battery bundled with an 18W fast charger. This model also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers.
