WhatsApp users will soon be able to make voice and video calls from the web version of the app. As per reports, WhatsApp Web is likely to get the video and voice calling feature soon. The feature has time and again appeared on the beta version of the WhatsApp web. The voice call and video feature have been rolled out to most beta testers and in the coming weeks, it will be rolled out to more users.
"WhatsApp is rolling out beta calls for specific users but unfortunately, being a beta feature, it's available for very few people. We hope you're lucky but, if it doesn't, don't worry: every day more users receive that activation and, at present, WhatsApp Desktop has a higher priority," the Wabetainfo read.
In the screenshot shared by Wabetainfo, a new icon for voice and video call has appeared on the beta update of WhatsApp web. It shows that the new window will open up every time you receive a call or try to make a call through the WhatsApp web.
In October this year, WhatsApp features tracker WAbetainfo had shared a similar update. Wabetainfo had informed that WhatsApp is testing the voice and video calls feature on its web app."We have already announced that WhatsApp was working on Calls. Today we are happy to announce new details, provided from the WhatsApp Web 2.2043.7 update!WhatsApp is considering the idea to offer Voice and Video Calls in the next few weeks, even if the development is in a beta-stage," the report by Wabetainfo read.
Now that the feature is appearing on beta updates, one can expect the messaging app to make the feature official. However, WhatsApp is yet to make an official announcement about the feature.
WhatsApp rolled out a few much-awaited features recently including WhatsApp Payments. WhatsApp had partnered with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) using the Unified Payment Interface (UPI), an India-first, a real-time payment system that enables transactions with over 160 supported banks. For Indian users, WhatsApp has partnered with leading banks including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, the State Bank of India, and Jio Payments Bank. The feature has been rolled out to Android and iOS users.
Other than this, WhatsApp had launched Custom Wallpapers, WhatsApp carts, Always Mute option, Disappearing messages, and many other features.
