The telecom giant Airtel is reportedly providing free 1GB data to some of the users across the country. If reports are to believed, Airtel is crediting extra 1GB data in the accounts of random prepaid users. The extra data comes above the data benefits of your existing prepaid pack and has a validity of three days. This isn't the first time Airtel is offering free data to users, earlier it was spotted giving away free 2GB data to random users.

As per OnlyTech reported, an Airtel user who made a recharge of 48 got a data benefit of 4GB along with the prepaid pack. The prepaid pack otherwise offers total internet data of 3GB but the user got an additional 1GB data with the pack. The user received a message from the telecom brand which informed him about the free data benefit that he had received. The company also told him that the extra data will only be valid for three days and it has been rolled out on a trial basis.

A similar thing was noticed with the Rs 49 prepaid pack. The prepaid comes with a talk time of Rs 38.52 and internet benefits of 100MB. However, it also received the 1GB data. The user was informed about the extra data benefits through a message. There is no fixed rule as to who will get the additional data benefits, Airtel is picking up random users and it will not roll out for all the Airtel subscribers. So if you haven't received any extra data, don't worry not everybody will get it anyway.

Earlier, Jio had started a similar practice of offering free internet data benefits to users for a limited period of time. Jio reportedly offered 2GB and even 3GB data to users for a limited period of time. Jio also rolled out it for random users and not all of them got the free data benefits.

Coming back to Airtel, the telecom brand recently discontinued one of its yearly prepaid plans costing Rs 2398. The prepaid plan offered 1.5GB data per day, unlimited calls, 100 SMS a day, and had a validity of 365 days. Now, Airtel has two yearly prepaid plan left which includes Rs 2498 prepaid plan and Rs 1498

The Rs 2498 prepaid plan comes with 2GB data per day, unlimited calling to all network, and 100 SMS per day. It also provides a free subscription to the Airtel Xtream app and free hello tunes. The Rs 2498 prepaid plan has a validity of 365 days. The other plan costs Rs 1498 and offers a total of 24GB, truly unlimited calls, and has a validity of 365 days. The plan also ships with a free subscription to the Airtel Xtream app and comes along with free Hellotunes.
