Airtel prepaid users can now access the Airtel Thanks app in regional languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil and others. Airtel has currently rolled out the multiple language support for Android users only, it might soon roll out the feature for iOS users soon. The app now supports Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Malayalam and Punjabi.
Airtel has said that it will add languages including Kannada, Assamese, and Odia in the coming weeks. For the unversed, Airtel Thanks app is its very own app that provides services including bill payments, recharges on its app. The app lets Airtel users access Digital Self Care - make recharges, bill payments, checking real-time data usage/balance details. Customers can also file service-related complaints through the app. Airtel Thanks app also offers access to digital payments and financial services along with a preview of Airtel's digital entertainment library. The app has three interfaces including Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
Talking about adding multiple language support to the Airtel Thanks app, Adarsh Nair, Chief Product Officer, said, "At Airtel, we are obsessed with solving customer problems and making their experience better through digital technologies. As India transforms into a smartphone nation, close to 35% of Airtel Thanks app users now come from Tier 2/3 towns and rural markets. With deep vernacular support, Airtel Thanks app becomes even more relevant and accessible for these customers and enables them to unlock the full potential of Airtel's exciting digital services."
Not just normal recharge, Airtel Thanks app also lets people recharge their Fastag account, DTH, broadband, pay the electricity bill, and more. It also lets people send money from one Airtel account to another. Airtel Thanks app users can also enjoy unlimited music, HD movies, TV shows, and much more on the Play tab in the app through Wynk Music & Airtel TV apps.
On a related note, Airtel had also introduced two new prepaid plans for its users— Rs 298 and Rs 79. The Rs 298 is similar to its Rs 279 prepaid pack but it comes with a free subscription to Zee5. The Rs 298 prepaid plan offers 1.5GB data per day, unlimited calls to all networks, and 100SMS per day. It has a validity of 28 days. The Rs 279 prepaid plan also provides similar benefits but in place of a free Zee5 subscription, it provides a life insurance cover worth Rs 4 lakhs. The Rs 79 prepaid plan is simply a top-up plan with a validity of 30 days.
