- Asus ZenFone 7 is set to see the light of day on August 26 in Taiwan.
- It is said to pack the Snapdragon 865 processor and 16GB of RAM.
- In India, the ZenFone 7 could launch as the Asus 7Z sometime later.
Asus ZenFone 7 will break the cover on August 26, the Taiwanese company has announced quietly. The next-generation ZenFone will pack flagship-level specifications, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor instead of the top-notch Snapdragon 865+, as per reports. Asus has not confirmed the specifications on the ZenFone 7 but it has put a YouTube live-stream video that goes live in exactly eight days from today.
The ZenFone 7 is currently launching in Taiwan, the home market for Asus, but the smartphone is likely to reach other markets. In India, the ZenFone 7 would launch as Asus 7Z, following the change in the smartphone naming with Asus 6Z. ZenFone 7 is also meant to be a big upgrade over the ZenFone 6, which means there will be changes in the design, display, and, of course, the processor. We have talked about the processor the ZenFone 7 is speculated to pack, it is time for other specifications.
Again unofficial, the rest of the specifications include a 6.7-inch display on the ZenFone 7 aka 7Z. It is not immediately clear whether there will be an AMOLED panel or an LCD panel on the smartphone. Plus, the refresh rate of the display is also not clear currently. There will be NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and a USB-C port on the Asus ZenFone 7. There will be a 512GB storage variant on the smartphone but there could be more of them. The ZenFone 7 could have a 16GB RAM variant, as well.
Asus ZenFone 7 has already passed through various certification websites, including its listing on the TUV Rheinland. The listing also revealed there will be 5000mAh battery inside the ZenFone 7, along with 30W charging. The ROG Phone 3 also has 30W Hyper Charging so, maybe, Asus is not looking to upgrade the charging speeds on its smartphones, at least not this year. Finally, the listing confirmed the Asus ZenFone 7 will come in black and white colour variants.
Asus launched the ZenFone 6 aka 6Z last year with the rotating cameras, the one that flips open to double selfie cameras. The ZenFone 7 is also speculated to have the same module but there are going to be some changes, of course, since it is a successor smartphone. There were two sensors on the Asus ZenFone 6 -- a 48-megapixel sensor and a 13-megapixel sensor. For ZenFone 7, Asus could go for a third sensor at the back but, again, nothing is set in stone right now.
We might have to wait for Asus to divulge more information on the ZenFone 7 aka 7Z ahead of the August 26 launch. It will begin at 2.00 pm Taiwan local time, which is 11.30 am in India.
