The Novel Coronavirus has thrown normal life out of gear across the world for biological beings but it is also indirectly affecting the world of PUBG MOBILE and its fans. No, the game doesn't have any form of a deadly virus in it affecting players but it's the real-world virus that's halting all the events. The PUBG MOBILE Pro and World Leagues have been postponed due to the outbreak of the virus and as a result, the event isn't happening now.

The PUBG MOBILE Pro and World Leagues see participants from all over the world battling it out to win the Chicken Dinner. The event is one of the biggest e-sports events in the world. The Pro and World Leagues have on offer a total amount of $ 5 million as prize money and hence, the competition among players is quite strong. However, the event currently stands postponed to prevent the COVID-19 infection spreading further among players and viewers.

This is not the first instance of a mega event being cancelled this year. As of now, almost a dozen mega events across the world related to the tech industry have been cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic. The Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona was called off amid the infection spreading across the world. Several tech giants like Apple, Xiaomi and Oppo have moved to online-only events in a bid to avoid spreading the infection.

While the event stands postponed, for now, reports say that Tencent is looking into other ways to make the vent more mobile. The specifics haven't been shared yet but chances are that the publisher is looking for ways to host the event without people coming together at a single location. Tencent may be working on stronger anti-cheat mechanism as well as improved ways to let players participate from the comfort of their homes.

PUBG MOBILE has recently completed two years of its existence on the mobile platform and over this period, it has evolved more than just being a mobile game. PUBG has spawned several eSports events and has encouraged improvement in quality for mobile games. The developers have been consistently upgrading the game with new maps, gameplay modes and new features, all of which have made the game comparable to a console game.
