Cosina is a Japan-based lens manufacturing company which has recently introduced two new optics. The new lenses will complement Sony E mount and Leica M mount cameras. These are: Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 35mm F2 Aspherical VM and Voigtlander Ultron Vintage Line 35mm F2 Aspherical Type II VM.

Let's deep into the technical specifications of the new lenses:

Voigtlander Ultron Vintage Line 35mm F2 Aspherical Type II VM

The Voigtlander Ultron Vintage Line 35mm F2 Aspherical Type II VM is the successor of existing Voigtlander Ultron 35mm F2 Aspherical Lens. According to the company, the new lens combines the styling of a classic lens with an optical performance that matches modern-day lenses.

The lens features eight elements in five groups. It has an aperture range from F2 through F16. The lens uses 10 aperture blades. The minimum focusing distance of the lens is 58cm.

Made of metal, the lens features a focusing ring and an aperture ring. For the weight, the optics comes around for 210 grams. The lens comes in two different colour variants - black and silver. Available for 90,000 yen, the lens will be available in March.

Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 35mm F2 Aspherical VM

The lens supports both Sony E mount and Leica M mount cameras. As for the performance, Cosina claims that the Apo-Lanthar 35mm F2 Aspherical VM is the highest performance lens in Voigtlander history. The optic comes with an apochromatic design in order to reduce chromatic aberration levels to virtually zero. This will help in high-quality images and videos.

Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 35mm F2 Aspherical VM comprises 11 elements in 9 groups. It includes five low-dispersion elements, two double-sided aspherical elements and a floating element. With an aperture of F2, the company claims that the lens can provide smooth circular bokeh photos. The lens has a 12-blade aperture diaphragm. The minimum shooting distance of the lens is 0.5m.

Other features include a focus ring and an aperture ring. The lens is manual focus only and weighs around 304 grams. Available for 120,000 yen, the lens will be available in March.

*The price and availability of both the new lenses in India is not known.
