Facebook users can now let their friends know that they have taken the COVID-19 vaccine by adding a frame to their profile. The social media giant has launched COVID-19 profile frames, stickers to encourage users to get the COVID-19 vaccination. There has been a sudden spike in the number of COVID cases and getting the jab seems like the only important thing right now provided you are eligible for it. The tech companies are spreading awareness about the vaccine in their own creative ways.

Facebook in the blog said that more and more people will head out to get the vaccine when they see many people they trust are doing it. The profile frames will be able to highlight who has taken the vaccine and who hasn't. The social media giant has partnered with the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

"Today, we're launching new COVID-19 vaccine profile frames on Facebook that we developed in collaboration with the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The new frames will let you share your support for COVID-19 vaccines and see that others you respect and care about are doing the same. In the coming weeks, we'll show you a summary in your News Feed of your friends, family members, and people you follow who are using the COVID-19 vaccine profile frames," Facebook noted in the blog.

Facebook has rolled out the profile frames in the UK in partnership with National Health Services (NHS).

"By working closely with national and global health authorities and using our scale to reach people quickly, we're doing our part to help people get credible information, get vaccinated, and encourage others to do the same, so we can come back together safely," Facebook said.

The profile frames carry the messages "I got my COVID-19 vaccine" and Let's get vaccinated". Facebook will feature the number of people who have used the profile frames.

Not just Facebook, Instagram has also rolled out the "Let's get vaccinated" sticker that can be used in photos, stories and videos. The sticker has been rolled out globally. The company aims to encourage more and more people to get the vaccine, Facebook has said that one person inspires the other, and it also helps in clearing the misconception surrounding the vaccination.
