Google's Pixel lineup for this year already has a wide fan base waiting for it, thanks to the several leaks and renders of the devices showcasing a completely new design this time around. Even the speculative specifications of the smartphones provide us with a detailed look at what's to come and all that is left to do now is confirm what is known so far. A new piece of information does just that.
Images of protective cases for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have emerged and are an exact fit to the renders of the smartphones that emerged earlier. The cases even highlight the prominent and continuous camera bump at the back, confirming the speculations about the impressive new design that Google is supposed to introduce later this year.
As seen in images provided by Slashleaks, the protective cases for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro come with all the grooves and cuts fitting the speculated design of the smartphones. Other than the camera bump spreading across the back, the covers protect the physical button on the side and come with an opening at the bottom for the charging port.
The cover shown in the leaks also has extended edges for added protection, possibly hinting at the considerable weight of the smartphones at their respective sizes. The protective case turns to a near bezel-less one at the front to enhance the edge-to-edge display and the punch-hole selfie shooter on both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Other recent leaks have hinted at all that we can expect on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. As per the speculations shared in a podcast by tipster Max Weinbach, the Google smartphones will be backed by the company's own Whitechapel chipsets, which will deliver performance somewhere between the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 888. Google will also equip the processor with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and an Image Signal Processor (ISP) for better-looking images through the smartphone cameras.
Other than this, the Pixel 6 has been rumoured to come with a Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which will be a first for any Google phone. Colour options to be available on the devices will include green, silver and black, other than the famed orange that appears in each of the leaks.
