A fresh March 2021 security update has started rolling out for Google's Pixel lineup. The update brings an important patch, which will be coming to Pixel phones, including Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4/4 XL, Pixel 3a/3a XL, and Pixel 3/3 XL. Not just this, Google also published an update bulletin for Pixel phones which details the functional updates in the upcoming update.

The March 2021 security update is sought to fix 43 Android security issues, including eight high-priority ones. Making this update an important and a must for all supported Pixel devices.

Improvemets in the latest OTA update for the Pixel lineup

The update fixes some of the most critical bugs. Apart from this, it fixes the Android Auto disconnect issue for the complete Pixel Pixel as mentioned above lineup. Further, it addresses the issue that prevented heads-up notifications for starred contacts in Do Not Disturb (DND) mode.

Other updates mentioned detailed in the list are focused on Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 series. Issues such as choppy full-screen display, malfunctioning auto-rotate functionality, stuck battery percentage meter, missed notifications and more have been resolved in this latest update.

Through its latest Android Security Bulletin for March 2021, Google pointed out several security vulnerabilities affecting components such as Android's runtime, framework, system, and media framework. These vulnerabilities will be patched once you update your device with the latest available, i.e. 2021-03-01 security patch. Moreover, Google has also revealed several vulnerabilities in closed-source vendor components and the underlying Linux kernel. These vulnerabilities will be patched once your device is running the 2021-03-05 security patch.

The March 2021 update should be available for the Pixel 3 to Pixel 5 range now. For the Pixel users, the OTA update and factory images have been made available on Google's developer website, and users can download and flash their device with the same.
