- GoPro has officially teased the launch of Hero 9 Black action camera.
- GoPro Hero 9 Black camera may feature a 20-megapixel image sensor.
- GoPro Hero 9 Black may pack two coloured screens, each for front and back.
As we were suspecting the launch of the new GoPro camera in the month of September or October, the company has officially announced the release date. GoPro Hero 9 Black action camera is set to launch on September 16. The company has revealed the launch date via an online teaser. The same teaser marks words like "more resolution" and "more everything" indicating the major upgrades of the new camera.
For the GoPro Hero 9 Black camera, the "more resolution" could mean a bigger sensor. Going by the leaks and rumours, Hero 9 Black may feature a 20-megapixel image sensor, surpassing its predecessors at the image and video quality. The camera is also hinted towards shooting 5K videos at up to 30fps. While 5K video recording will be the first-ever on a GoPro action camera, other shooting modes will be 4K at up to 60fps, fullHD at up to 240fps and more.
Other than 5K videos, the "more everything" could also be in regard to two coloured screens. As we reported earlier, Hero 9 Black may feature a large coloured front display for vloggers. If the new camera packs a coloured front LCD display, it will come with better functionality than to show the battery level or the shooting mode.
The Hero 9 Black action camera will feature a bigger battery of 1720mAh reportedly. Additionally, the camera is said to include a replaceable lens cover which the Hero 8 Black removed.
Other specifications which will attract the attention of the camera users include HyperSmooth 3.0 image stabilization to capture stable shots without shake, TimeWarp 3.0 (an upgrade over 2.0) for recording fast-paced videos, and a new webcam mode.
