- The 9X Pro will be the brandís first HMS based smartphone
- The company will also launch the MagicBook at the event
- The smartphone could come sporting a notch-less display
Chinese phone maker Honor has announced that it will be launching its first Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) based phone on February 24 in Barcelona, Spain. The phone will be launched at a closed-door event that the company is hosting after its plans for a grand launch at MWC 2020 were disrupted by the Corononavirus outbreak that's currently taking over China.
Honor 9X Pro is the brand's first HMS based smartphone with 7nm Kirin 810 Chipset. The company claims it will offer superior AI capabilities and reduce energy consumption for improved gaming performance. Honor also claims the smartphone will offer ultimate gaming experience backed by powerful performance.
The proof of this may end up being in the hardware the phone offers. The Honor 9X Pro is powered by the Kirin 810 SoC and may sport up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The display on the device could be a 6.59-inch FHD+ notchless panel with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a 4,000mAh battery under the hood with charging support of 10W. The 9X Pro could also come with Android 10 based EMUI 10.
The cameras on board could see the Honor 9X Pro sport a 16-megapixel selfie snapper sat on a pop-up mechanism, while at the back there could be a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel main lens and an 8-megapixel ultrawide and 2-megapixel depth sensor units.
Apart from this, Honor has also confirmed that it will be launching the MagicBook at the global launch event. While there is no confirmation on the specs of the product yet, it is expected to be the same MagicBook that was launched earlier last year in China.
The MagicBook features a 14-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor. The laptop comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of PCIe SSD internal storage. It comes running Windows 10 operating system, and weighs quite less at 1.38kgs because of its aluminum shell.
The laptop also packs a 56Wh battery that the company claims can deliver up to 10 hours of battery backup. For connectivity, it sports one USB Type-C, one USB 3.0, and a USB 2.0 port.
