The Honor Play 4 and Play 4 Pro are all set to launch in China today and ahead of their launch, some key specs about the device have been announced by the company. Honor has revealed through a teaser video, that the Pro version will indeed be flaunting flagship specs.
The Pro version is said to flaunt the flagship Kirin 990 chipset, with the basic model getting a MediaTek Dimensity 800. The teaser also reveals some information about the phone's supported fast charger, but doesn't confirm the rumored 40W. Apart from this, the new teaser has also confirmed the body temperature sensor, which had previously been confirmed by the company.
The Honor Play 4 and Honor Play 4 Pro phones are set to be announced tomorrow and will come close on the heels of the Play 4T and Play 4T Pro -- two devices that were launched only recently. Earlier, the two phones were teased by the company in three colors in a Weibo post that did not disclose much apart from showing the phone sporting a quad camera set-up at the back, with what appears to be a 64-megapixel primary camera.
Except for this, there is little official information about the phone available right now. Previously, we've seen a number of leaks about the device, and even a TENAA listing which claimed to have revealed all there is to know about the internals of the phone. The listing revealed that the Honor Play 4 will come equipped with a 6.81-inch display with 1080 x 2400 pixel LCD display.
While the report doesn't reveal any information about the chipset, the phone is shown in the listing to be made available in 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB RAM options. For storage, the listing claims the device will get 64GB, 128GB or 256GB storage options.
There will be four cameras on the device, with the primary being a 64-megapixel main camera, secondary being an 8-megapixel lens, and two additional 2-megapixel sensors sat next to them. The TENAA listing also claims the phone could get a 16-megapixel selfie shooter in a punch-hole cut out on the front. Running the show would be a 4,200 mAh battery.
The Honor Play 4 Pro, is expected to be slightly more powerful, with the phone also expected to offer 5G. Under the hood, the phone will pack the Kirin 990 chipset and also include a Sony IMX600y sensor for its main camera. This will form part of the dual-camera set-up at the back, with the phone also supporting two selfie cameras on the front. The front-facing cameras will be in a punch hole on the upper left side of the screen.
The phone is also tipped to get an under-display fingerprint reader and support for 40W fast charging and a 3.5mm audio jack.
