Huawei's Mate 40 series has finally gone official with three new phones, the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro and the Mate 40 Pro+. The company also launched a special edition Porsche Mate 40 RS. The phones have been announced for select markets currently, with the Mate 40 series announced to start retail at Euro 999 for the Mate 40 and going up to 2,295 for the special edition version. The Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ will be available for Euro 1,199 and Euro 1,399 respectively.
India pricing and availability of the phones haven't been announced yet, so watch this space for information on the same.
Huawei Mate 40: Specifications
Huawei Mate 40 comes with a 6.5-inch display with a full HD+ resolution. Under the hood, the device comes with its Kirin 9000E processor with support for 5G. It has been paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The device gets a triple camera setup on the back with a 50-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 16-megapixel ultra wide angle sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with a 3x optical zoom. The battery here is a 4,200mAh pack with support for 40W fast charging. The Mate 40 does not come with support for wireless charging.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+: Specifications
The two devices come with a 6.76-inch 2K curved OLED display with a 2772x1344 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The chipset here is a 5nm Kirin 9000 processor with integrated 5G. The Mate 40 Pro comes with 8GB of RAM paired with 256GB of internal storage, and the Mate 40 Pro+ comes with 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB of internal storage.
The Mate 40 Pro features a quad camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor sat next to a 20-megapixel ultra wide angle sensor, a 12-megapixel periscope/telephoto lens with a 5x optical zoom, and a 3D depth sensor to complete the list. The Mate 40 Pro+ also sports a quad camera setup, with the same 50-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, an 8-megapixel periscope lens and a 20-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens.
For battery, both the phones rely on a 4,400mAh battery with support for 50W fast wireless charging and 66W fast wired charging.
