Huawei has announced the launch of a new phone, the P40 Lite 5G. The smartphone is the latest addition to the company's P40 line-up of phones and has been currently launched in Europe. The device appears to be an upgraded version of the Huawei P40 Lite launched earlier in the year.
The Huawei P40 Lite 5G gets some interesting upgrades, including an improved chipset, upgraded primary camera, and support for 5G basebands. The phone has been launched at an aggressive price point in Europe and should offer a good price to performance ratio.
Huawe P40 Lite 5G: Price
The phone has been launched at a price of EUR 399 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. Reports suggest it will be available in three colours -- Crush Green, Space Silver, and Midnight Black. The first sale for the device will start on May 29, however, it has been put up for pre-orders already. For now, there remains no clarity on whether the device will eventually come to India.
Huawei P40 Lite 5G: Specifications
In terms of the specs, the phone features a 6.5-inch LTPS LCD panel with HDR 10 support running at a maximum of Full HD+ (1080 x 2400) resolution. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the new HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G octa-core chipset (upgrade over the Kirin 810 on the previous model). This has been paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
For cameras, the phone gets quad lens setup with a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there's a 16-megapixel f/2.0 selfie shooter.
Apart from this, the phone is powered by a 4000-mAh battery with support for 40W fast charging. There's a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. For connectivity, the new Huawei device includes 5G and also gets Wi-Fi dual-band, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-frequency GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
