With plenty of camera apps in the Play Store, Google has also come up with one.
The Google Camera app is an Android app that claims to allow you to click high resolution panorama shots and 360 degree views. What makes it special is its ability to refocus pictures after they are shot.
The Google Camera app has a Lens Blur feature that emphasises the subject while blurring the background, replicating a SLR like shot with shallow depth-of-field. It helps the subject to stand out and gives the picture a professionally taken look.
The Photo Sphere feature that was restricted to Nexus smartphones has been added to this app as well. It enables users to click 360 degree views of the surroundings. It basically consists of various photos which are stitched together and results in a large size image.
The panorama mode has been further improved as it can capture high resolution panorama shots with full width and detail of a scene.
The app also offers the ability to change the focus after clicking the picture, a feature Nokia and Samsung have embedded in their camera apps.
Available for download from the Play Store, it can only be installed on the Android smartphone running KitKat 4.4 and above. Google plans to make it available for more devices in the coming months.
