Samsung launches new accessories - Gear VR, IconX and Gear Fit 2

Today, at the launch of the Note 7, Samsung also announced the launch of a new range of accessories - the Gear VR headset, the IconX earbuds and the Gear Fit 2 fitness band.

Designed to work with the Galaxy Note 7, this new Gear VR has USB Type C support. The Gear VR headset launched last year was only compatible with select Samsung smartphones. However, to make the new Gear VR backward compatible, a microUSB connector is also available. The new Gear VR has been enhanced and offers a wider field of view of 101 degrees. The new Gear VR is priced at Rs 7,290.

Samsung has also announced IconX earbuds for Rs 13,490. The wireless earbuds (for both left and right ear) connect over Bluetooth 4.1 and have internal storage of up to 4 GB for storing songs. Even when not paired with the smartphone, the earbuds can play music, making it a perfect companion for workout sessions, where not everyone is interested in carrying a smartphone. The earbuds also have a heart-rate monitor. The internal battery on the earbuds is small and as per the company claims can last 90 minutes. The carrying case accompanied to store the earbuds bundles as a charging dock that can store charge.

The Gear Fit 2 fitness band features a 1.5inch curved super AMOLED display and is powered by 1Ghz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM. Even this one has got 4GB internal storage and a 200 mAh battery that can last up to three to four days. Based on Tizen OS, it can track sleep, heart rate, activity and has also got built-in GPS. This is water resistant and is priced at Rs 13,990.
