  • Lenovo has launched a new range of Legion gaming laptops in India.
  • The series includes a Legion 7i high-end laptop, and Legion 5Pi and Legion 5i laptops, as well.
  • Lenovo Legion 7i is the most expensive one that starts at Rs 1,99,990.

Lenovo's Legion line of laptops now has new models in India. On Tuesday, the Chinese company introduced new gaming laptops, including the Legion 7i, Legion 5Pi, and Legion 5i. These gaming laptops are getting the latest 10th-generation Intel Core chipsets and up to Nvidia GeForce RTX GPUs for better graphic performance. Lenovo is bumping up the laptops with refresh rates of up to 144Hz, which has become one of the mainstays for high-end gaming on a series of devices, including laptops, smartphones. Since these laptops are for intensive gaming, Lenovo is packing standard features such as high-quality speakers and active cooling for the processor.

Much like the laptops launched recently in India, Lenovo is targeting a niche of premium customers who would prioritise gaming over everything else. I mean the hardware on these laptops is souped up for intensive tasks, many of which are related to gaming and video production. The top-end Lenovo Legion 7i has 10th-generation Intel Core i9 H-series processor paired with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. The graphics on the laptop are handled by the top-level Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q GPU with 8GB VRAM. There is a 15.6-inch 1080p display with 144Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

Lenovo Legion 7i brings 1TB of PCIe SSD storage, but you can configure it to include some other variant of onboard memory. Lenovo is going all-out on the connectivity options, including the Wi-Fi 6 and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the Legion 7i. It has 2W stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Audio and packs an 80Wh battery underneath that can offer a life of eight hours. You also get hardware cooling on the processor for when it heats up while gaming or carrying out some other task of high memory consumption. The design of the laptop complements the purpose of the Legion 7i.

The Lenovo Legion 7i is the top-notch model in the series and costs Rs 1,99,990 onwards. It comes in a single Slate Grey colourway.

Lenovo is also launching two additional models under the series with watered-down specifications. The Legion 5Pi has a 10th-generation Intel Core i7-10750H processor and up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. It uses a 1080p display with a 144Hz refresh rate, as well. The stereo speakers on the Legion 5Pi are of Harman Kardon with Dolby Audio software support. The Lenovo Legion 5Pi costs Rs 1,34,990 and will be available in Iron Grey colour starting this week.

Finally, the Lenovo Legion 5i has 10th-generation Intel Core i7-10750H processor and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with 6GB VRAM. You get to choose a 1TB PCIe SSD or 1TB HDD on the laptop, with the maximum RAM being 16GB. This one also has Harman Kardon speakers with the same power output and the 80Wh battery to back everything else. The Lenovo Legion 5i will sell for Rs 79,990 across online and offline channels later this month.
