Speculations are rife that the Xiaomi Mi 11X will be a rebrand of the Redmi K40 that was launched in China in February this year along with Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro+ variants
Xiaomi's India head Manu Kumar Jain has provided us with the first live images of the Mi 11X which seemingly confirms the speculations that the smartphone is indeed the Redmi K40. It will be available in Celestial Gold, Celestial Blue, and Celestial Pink colour options. The Xiaomi Mi 11X has triple rear cameras in a rectangular module with LED flash.
If the Mi 11X is indeed a rebranded Redmi K40, then it is not difficult to anticipate some of the specifications already. The Redmi K40 comes with a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch response, and a 3.5mm ultra-slim bottom bezel. It runs Android 11-based MIUI 12 and is fitted with a 4,520 mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. It is 5G enabled along with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C for charging and data transfer. As for the cameras, the Redmi K40 has a triple rear camera setup, with a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 5MP macro lens. There is a 20MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Redmi K40's price in China is RMB 1,999 (approx Rs 22,400) for the 6GB+128GB model, RMB 2,199 (approx Rs 24,700) for the 8GB+128GB option, RMB 2,499 (approx Rs 28.000) for the 8GB+256GB variant, and RMB 2,699 (approx Rs 30,000) for the 12GB+256GB model. If the Mi 11X is a rebranded Redmi K40, you can expect the phone to launch in India under Rs 30,000.
