- The Motorola One Vision Plus has been spotted on Android Enterprise Directory.
- Motorola could offer the Plus with minor upgrades for 2020.
- The One Vision Plus could be an Android One device.
Most of you may know Motorola in 2020 with its Razr folding phone but the company had made a comeback last year with a bunch of affordable Android smartphones. The One Vision was its first step in the new direction, offering unique features at a decent price. The One Vision did not make it to the top-selling phones in the country but it marked Motorola's presence in the Indian smartphone industry. This year, it is going to get a successor.
A recent listing on the Google Android Enterprise Directory has confirmed a new phone from Motorola that carries the name "One Vision Plus". It may sound like a bigger version of the original model but Motorola could bring it as the successor to the 2019 model. The One Vision Plus' listing suggests that it could be a mild upgrade over the older model while retaining most of its standout features.
Spotted by MySmartPrice, the One Vision Plus appears to have the same 6.3-inch display, a fingerprint scanner, 4GB RAM and Android 9 as its OS. This is not exactly a standout specifications list but this could be base variant of the prototype device. The listing also shows an image of a phone that looks identical to the Moto G8 Plus, a phone that launched late last year.
You shouldn't believe blindly on this leak though as it could be in the very early stages. Motorola is currently focusing on the Motorola Edge+ and after its US launch last month, the company will announce the phone for India, although we don't have a date yet.
As for the One Vision Plus, it could be Motorola's attempt to take a share of Xiaomi's Redmi Note series phones as well as Samsung's Galaxy A and M series phones. Last year's model launched at Rs 19,999, making it quite pricey for the specifications it offered. However, the phone was later dropped to a much lower price of Rs 14,999, at which it is still sold.
The One Vision has a few outstanding features in its segment. It is the only phone in its class to offer a 21:9 LCD display, which also makes the phone narrow and tall. Motorola used an Exynos 9609 chip in the One Vision and paired it with its stock Android 9 interface. The One Vision got an update to Android 10 early this year, with the Android 11 update scheduled to be its last OS update. The phone also offered a 48-megapixel main camera with a great Night Vision mode.
