Motorola could soon launch its next flagship device with Snapdragon 888 SoC. As per reports, Chen Jing, general manager of Lenovo, had teased the launch of the smartphone on Twitter's Chinese counterpart Weibo. In his post, Chen revealed that the smartphone would arrive with a set of interesting features. However, no details about its specifications and launch date were confirmed by the company.
As per GizChina, Chen Jing had shared the packaging of the Motorola phone with Snapdragon 888 processor, which was made official a month ago. Chen said that the presentation of the phone will take place very soon and that the phone could come with many interesting features. Qualcomm Snapdragon had shared the list of manufactures that would launch smartphones with Snapdragon 888 SoC and Motorola was one of them.
Announcing the latest chipset, Alex Katouzian, senior vice president and general manager of mobile, compute and infrastructure, Qualcomm Technologies, had said, "Qualcomm's history of breakthrough technology inventions has paved the way for our continued leadership in the premium-tier mobile segment. The new flagship Snapdragon 888 Mobile Platform will enable OEMs to further differentiate their devices and allows users to experience the latest cutting-edge mobile technologies."
Lenovo too had confirmed launching a smartphone with Snapdragon 800 chipset. Company's president Sergio Buniac during the summit revealed Motorola's plans of coming up with a flagship device in 2021. "2021 will mark the tenth generation of Moto G - and nothing would make us prouder than bringing [Qualcomm Snapdragon] 800 series experiences to this family. Our mission is to deliver smarter technology for all. We can't wait to show you more," he had said.
It was reported that Motorola could launch the Moto G with the flagship processor. However, it was not clear whether the next Moto G would come with an 865 processor or an 888 processor. Earlier, Motorola had unveiled the Moto Edge+ with the Snapdragon 865 chipset. Now, if the company is planning to launch a smartphone with Snapdragon 888 chipset, it would bring major upgrades compared to its predecessors.
