New Xiaomi Mi 10 variant with Snapdragon 870 SoC spotted on TENAA

Few of Xiaomi's upcoming smartphones have recently been spotted on Chinese certification website TENAA ahead of their launch. These include Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro an a new variant of the Mi 10 which will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 870 SoC. The new Mi 10 variant carries a model number M2102J2SC which was approved by the 3C authority of China last week. This smartphone can be launched in the coming days.

The listing reveals that the Xiaomi M2012J2SC smartphone has a curved edge display. The new variant is likely to feature an AMOLED screen with an in-screen fingerprint reader. It is also expected to feature a punch-hole on the top-left corner of the screen. At the back, the phone has a curved appeal and a vertically aligned camera module.

The new smartphone will be powered by a quad-rear camera system. The details of this camera module are unknown but all models of the Mi 10 series have been equipped with a 108-megapixel primary sensor so far. The listing hints that the smartphone can with support for 33W rapid charging and 5G connectivity.

The last Mi 10 series smartphone to launch in India was the Mi 10i. The smartphone featured a 6.67-inch display on the front with support for 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It features Adaptive Sync which allows phone to switch between 6 refresh rate steps automatically.

Under the hood, the phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 750G SoC which is paired to a base configuration of multiple configurations of RAM and storage. The phone comes with a quad-camera set-up on the back, built around a 108-megapixel ISOCELL HM2 sensor. Other cameras in the list are an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2-camera macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the phone gets a 16-megapixel sensor.

The smartphone also packs a 4820mAh battery which comes with support for 33W fast charging. Xiaomi claims that the charger can charge the phone up to 68 per cent in just 30 minutes and 0-100 in slightly less than an hour.

The Xiaomi Mi 10i is a very aggressively priced device with the entry variant starting at Rs 20,999. This variant brings with it 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The mid-variant gets 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and has been launched at Rs 21,999. The third one will be available for Rs 23,999. This one will get 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage.
