On Monday, Bharti Airtel and Aircel announced their plans to launch the much awaited Apple iPhone 4 in India. Although the official launch date of the handset has not been revealed, the press statements released by the telecom players say the handset will be launched in the coming months.
Available in the grey market for close to six months now, the iPhone 4 has a stunning Retina display and built-in video calling application Facetime. Internationally, the iPhone 4 was launched in June 2010. Unfortunately, just like the iPad, some believe Apple is trying to get rid of the device from their shores before the launch of the iPhone 5 that is expected in the coming months.
Over the last couple of years, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S were launched in India by Airtel and Vodafone only.
