Toshiba launches Android-powered TV in India

Offering countless apps, games and videos through the Android platform, the L9460 series has Ultra HD 4k screens while the L5400 series has Full HD displays.

Toshiba launches Android-powered TV in India
The L9450 has Toshiba's CEVO 4K image processing engine that the company claims to offer a new intensity in picture quality with four times as many pixels as Full HD.

Toshiba India on Monday launched Android TVs in the country. The Japanese electronics giant has introduced two new ranges of smart LED TVs that are powered by Android 4.4 operating system.

Offering countless apps, games and videos through the Android platform, the L9460 series has Ultra HD 4k screens while the L5400 series has Full HD displays.

The L9450 has Toshiba's CEVO 4K image processing engine that the company claims to offer a new intensity in picture quality with four times as many pixels as Full HD.

It also converts Full HD content to near Ultra HD quality with the 4K Resolution+ technology. It will be available in 50-inch, 65-inch and 84-inch screen sizes that are priced at Rs 1,99,000, Rs 3,69,900 and Rs 10,49,000, respectively.

The L5400 Series with Android will be available in 32-inch, 40-inch, 47-inch and 56-inch sizes and will be priced between Rs 38,990 and Rs 1,29,990.

"Our latest range offers the customers a choice to enjoy latest Android applications on a larger screen and in a higher image quality than that of smartphones and tablets," said Sanjay Warke, Country Head, Toshiba India - DS Division.
