- Galaxy Buds 2 could be the successor to the Galaxy Buds+
- The Galaxy Buds 2 may feature a kidney bean like design
- The design would be quite unique and a first for truly wireless earbuds
Samsung has enjoyed a good amount of success with its Galaxy buds range of truly wireless earphones. Introduced to the public in 2019, the company launched an updated version, the Galaxy Buds+ earlier in February 2020.
The Buds+ brought a similar design, and only represented an upgrade in the specs. However, that could be about to change with the next launch in the series. The next-generation Galaxy Buds according to reports will feature a very different design and look very different from the current-gen Galaxy Buds+.
This is according to 3D data leaked by WinFuture which shows the Galaxy Buds 2, will feature a bean design. The leaked renders show the Galaxy Buds 2 ditching the stems and silicone tips design for a strange-looking kidney bean design.
The Galaxy Buds 2 are shown to feature a microphone in the outer portion of the device, and the speakers and metal connectors, possibly for charging or for measuring the wearer's heart rate, in the inner portion. The device is also reported to come with a sensor to detect if the earbuds are in the ear.
According to WinFuture, the Galaxy Buds 2 will be worn with the speaker area in the lower part of the ear, and the rest of the wireless earbuds resting on the upper part. If true, this would represent a unique upgrade on anything else that exists in the market and would be a leap in design for the wireless earbuds.
Yet, ut remains to be seen how this design would become a reality. Without the silicone tips and adapters from previous models, the Galaxy Buds 2 will be quite difficult to fit different ear shapes. The lack of silicone attachment could also affect the noise cancellation ability of the earbuds.
