Nikon announced two new lenses for its full-frame mirrorless Z-series cameras last month. The new lenses are NIKKOR Z 14-24mm F2.8 S and NIKKOR Z 50mm F1.2 S. Today, Nikon Japan confirmed that the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm F2.8 S lens will start shipping on October 30.

As Nikon Rumors reported, the shipping for the 14-24mm F2.8 lens is starting earlier than expected. The initial Nikon press release stated that the company will release the two lenses in November.

For the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm F2.8 S lens, Nikon claims that it "is the shortest and lightest full-frame zoom lens". The new lens is compact when retracted and weighs around 650grams.

Its optical system has 16 elements in 11 groups which includes four ED lens elements to help control chromatic aberrations, 3 aspherical elements, elements with Nano Crystal and ARNEO coats to control ghosting and flare, and a fluorine-coated front lens element. The new camera lens is weather-proof to fight against dust and water.

NIKKOR Z 14-24mm F2.8 S functions both in auto mode and manual mode. The lens allows autofocus and features internal focusing as well.

The price and availability of the new lens is still not known for the Indian market. But the users in India can expect the release of NIKKOR Z 14-24mm F2.8 S lens along with NIKKOR Z 50mm F1.2 S very soon due to the listing of the products on Nikon India's official web page.
