Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G are the two latest phones to have made a comeback. The classic phones Nokia 6300 Classic and Nokia 8800 have been launched in refreshed avatars, which although retain most crucial design elements but let go of the stainless plates and metallic finish for other materials. The Nokia 6300 4G has a polycarbonate body while the Nokia 8000 4G uses a glass-like coating, which makes it the most premium-looking feature phone launched by HMD Global.
The Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G both run on KaiOS software, which is the most preferred platform for feature phones because of the compatibility it offers. Because of KaiOS, the Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G will be able to run WhatsApp, Facebook, Google, Gmail, YouTube, and other apps that can be downloaded from the KaiStore. These feature phones also support Google Assistant, which means these can be controlled using voice for certain functions but they will not be as full-fledged as the functionalities you get on Android smartphones.
Coming in the classic candy bar design, the Nokia 6300 4G brings 4G connectivity using a single SIM card slot. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 platform coupled with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 32GB microSD card support, and a 2.4-inch QVGA display. The handset is backed by a 1500mAh battery that is rated to deliver a standby time of 27 days. There is a MicroUSB port for charging. The feature phone also comes with support for Wi-Fi hotspot so that you can share the 4G connection with other devices that support Wi-Fi.
There is a VGA camera on the back of the Nokia 6300 4G, which should be enough for clicking photos with the most basic quality. There is also an LED flash above the camera. The bottom of the phone has a speaker grille that likely houses a mono speaker. At the middle of the back panel, there is a Nokia branding. The Nokia 6300 4G comes in Light Charcoal, White, and Cyan Green colours.
Nokia 8000 4G has a glossy finish on the back that looks like it has an NCVM coating. The T9 keyboard has curved edges that blend with the display and the rim design-wise. It also has a 2.4-inch display, a Snapdragon 210 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and a 1500mAh battery. But its camera is a little better with a 2MP sensor on the back. It comes in Onyx, Opal, Citrine and Topaz colours.
The Nokia 6300 4G costs EUR 49 and Nokia 8000 4G costs EUR 79. Both handsets will be available in select markets but we do not have a release date yet.
