HMD Global is holding an event on September 22 where it said it will unveil a new chapter for Nokia phones. The surprise announcement could be about long-rumoured Nokia 9.3 PureView that has overstayed its welcome in the rumour mill. The Nokia 7.3, Nokia 6.3, Nokia 3.4, and Nokia 2.4 are likely to tag along.
The Finnish company has sent out media invites for the event that is scheduled to begin at 4 pm BST. This is 8.30 pm IST for people in India. It is going to be a global launch event where the products launched will primarily be for Europe. I am assuming the India launch of these smartphones and their prices will be announced later.
Nokia 9.3 PureView rumours hit the first time back in January but there has been nothing official so far. Reportedly, there were multiple delays that HMD Global said were caused by either the implementation of sophisticated technologies or the coronavirus pandemic. But that delay has been extensively long. Other manufacturers circumvented those problems in a quick manner and went ahead with their launches but HMD Global must have been waiting for an opportune time.
But there is a chance that Nokia 9.3 PureView might not still launch. A tipster named Nokia Anew has suggested the Nokia 9.3 PureView is further delayed and that the top-end smartphone launching on September 22 will be the Nokia 7.3.
The Nokia 9.3 PureView is going to be the flagship device that allegedly will have a Snapdragon 865 processor, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and even an under-display camera, apart from the Penta-lens on rear cameras. The Nokia 7.3, on the other hand, will be a mid-range device that will have bumped up specifications over its predecessor, Nokia 7.2. Nokia Anew also said previously that the Nokia 7.2 has been discontinued, which hints that the Nokia 7.3 is around the corner.
We could also see the Nokia 6.3, the Nokia 3.4, and the Nokia 2.4 launching at the event. These three smartphones will be positioned in their respective series and bring new specifications. The details of Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4 have leaked abundantly, so we might have an idea of what to expect from them. In any case, we will know what HMD Global has in store for us on September 22.
