Highlights

  • HMD Global has launched the new X20, X10 smartphones with 5G.
  • There is a G-series with G20 and G10 smartphones with big displays.
  • Nokia C20 and C10 are meant for the masses with Android Go.

Nokia's smartphones are seeing what could be the biggest revamp from HMD Global since 2016. HMD Global has introduced a new naming scheme for its smartphones. The new Nokia phones follow the combination of letters and numbers in their names. That is why you have as many as six phones called X20, X10, G20, G10, C20, and C10. They replace what could have been the Nokia 1.5, Nokia 5.5, or the Nokia 7.4, and HMD thinks this new change will streamline sales of Nokia phones better.

These six are the first two smartphones in their respective series. HMD told me there will be more such phones named X30, G30, and C30. According to the company, the Nokia X-series is the most premium line of phones, featuring 5G. The new Nokia X-series smartphones are the first affordable 5G devices while the G-series is meant for customers who are looking for a balanced mix of specifications. And the C-series is for the masses. In a statement, HMD said, "Top of the range Nokia X-series, intermediate G-series and entry-level C-series all deliver the quality experience that consumers have come to expect from the European mobile company."
