Smartphone maker Samsung on Tuesday announced that it has started home delivery of Samsung Finance+ which would allow the customers to get their Galaxy phones financed at home. The service is pretty similar to Xiaomi's Mi Commerce, which allows customers to locate nearby Xiaomi stores and order products from there. However, the Mi Commerce doesn't provide finance services unlike the Samsung Finance+, which is a universally accessible digital lending platform and provides easy financing options to consumers for the purchase of Galaxy smartphones in India.
Samsung's Finance+ services are currently available across 12,000 dealers in nearly 300 towns. This would allow the customers to place an order from home and get their phones financed instead of going to select dealerships to avail the Samsung Finance+ service.
"At Samsung, consumers are at the heart of everything we do. The home delivery of Samsung Finance+ will enable our consumers to buy their favorite Galaxy smartphone at easy finance from the comfort of their homes. It will also ensure that our consumers don't have to step out to a physical store at a time when Social Distancing is the new normal. Samsung Finance+ is our 'Make for India' initiative towards financial inclusion and Digital India. We are confident that the home delivery of Samsung Finance+ will help millions of consumers in India," said Mohandeep Singh, Senior Vice President, Mobile Business, Samsung India.
For customers, who are planning to buy a Galaxy smartphone on finance can contact the nearest dealership. Upon receiving the request from the customer, the dealer will send a Samsung executive to the customer's house. He will then help the customer in completing the loan process in the comfort of his home. Samsung will also provide multiple offers on various Galaxy smartphones after the customer fills up his personal details for KYC verification. This would be a paperless journey and everything would happen digitally.
This initiative has been taken by Samsung to ensure that its customers follow social distancing and don't step outside their houses to get their phones financed. To make the services available in India, Samsung has partnered with DMI Finance.
Talking about the collaboration, Shivashish Chatterjee, co-founder, DMI hai said, "These testing times have only strengthened DMI's resolve to provide hassle-free credit to the widest population possible. Lockdowns and work-from-home make it even more important that people have the ability to get financing to purchase a smartphone from the safety of their living room. We are proud to partner Samsung in extending the successful Finance+ program to home service."
