After a few leaks and rumours, the Nubia Play has gone official. The latest smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker boasts of 5G support, a 144Hz refresh rate on its AMOLED display, and a Snapdragon 765G processor among others. The launch of the Nubia Play comes days after the company announced the global availability of its flagship Red Magic 5. The Nubia Play is another gaming smartphone from the company that has all the bells and whistles you will find on Nubia's other smartphones. It has been announced for the Chinese market now but could be released in other markets as well.
Nubia Play Price
The Nubia Play has been priced at CNY 2,699, which is roughly Rs 30,000, for the lonesome storage variant. It comes in only a black colour model. It will go up for pre-orders starting Tuesday, April 21 via JD.com while the sales of the smartphone are slated to begin after three days in China. As we said, Nubia has not said anything on the smartphone's global availability.
Nubia Play Specifications
The Nubia Play is packed with some top-of-the-line specifications that have been deemed adequate for intensive gaming. The smartphone has a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and an in-display fingerprint sensor. There is a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, much like the Red Magic 5. There is no punch-hole or notch on the display, which means there are reasonably thick bezels on the top and bottom chins of the phone. The Nubia Play is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Specifically for gaming, the Nubia Play has programmable shoulder buttons for various game functions, such as firing. Most games available for mobile devices support triggers that are either built-in or are added as an accessory. The Nubia Play has an ICE2.5 cooling system, a CNC metal frame, and rear panel with geometrical patterns. There is a hexagonal pattern at the back. The Nubia Play has a 5100mAh battery under the hood with support for Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0 via 30W USB-PD.
For photography, there is a setup of four sensors at the back - a 48-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel camera, and two 2-megapixel cameras. There is a single sensor on the front, the details for which are not clearly mentioned in the phone specifications sheet. The smartphone has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other standard connectivity options.
