- OnePlus is likely to bring the OnePlus Nord 2 following the launch of its OnePlus Nord CE 5G.
- The smartphone has been hinted to carry an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
- It might come at a price less than that of the OnePlus Nord.
Even before OnePlus could make its Nord CE 5G official, rumours around the OnePlus Nord 2 have started making their way online. Tentative to debut as the official successor to the OnePlus Nord in July, the recent details around the smartphone give us a hint of what to expect from it.
Much of the specifications of the OnePlus Nord 2 have been hinted at in new leaks, and as per them, the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. There will be a couple of memory options on the smartphone and a triple-lens camera setup donning its back.
OnePlus Nord 2 is said to get a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Prior leaks around the device have also hinted at a better screen-to-body ratio on the phone as well as a punch-hole for the selfie shooter in the top left corner of the display.
As mentioned, the OnePlus Nord 2 will likely use a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and will be available in an 8GB RAM and a 12GB RAM variant. While the former will host 128GB of internal storage, the latter will bump it up to 256GB. There are no signs of a 6GB RAM base variant for the smartphone as of now. The leaks have recently been shared by 91mobiles and OnLeaks.
If the leaks hold true, we can expect to see the OnePlus Nord 2 with a triple-lens camera setup on the back, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor coupled to an 8-megapixel and a 2-megapixel sensor. This means the OnePlus Nord 2 will cut short on the quad-camera setup on the OnePlus Nord seen last year.
For selfies, the OnePlus Nord 2 will employ a 32-megapixel selfie camera in a punch-hole arrangement. This is the same sensor as the one on OnePlus Nord, albeit an 8-megapixel sensor accompanying it for a dual-camera setup.
OnePlus has been tipped to increase the battery backup on the OnePlus Nord 2 over its predecessor. For this, the 4,115mAh battery seen on the phone last year will now be replaced with a 4,500mAh battery on the OnePlus Nord 2. It is expected to come with fast charge support too.
OnePlus Nord 2 expected price in India
Speculations to date suggest that the OnePlus Nord 2 will be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 in India. We can even expect it to have a price tag less than the one seen on the OnePlus Nord.
Though it will be a surprise if OnePlus launches the 8GB RAM variant at this price, since there is no hint at a 6GB RAM variant as of now, we will have to wait and see how the company lines up its various models and prices them.
